Jill and matt’s 413life

Jill and Matt live-streaming in the 413

For Jill Finck and Matt Zalenski, the 413Life is all about the dogs, the outdoors, and the good local eats.

With their dogs, Otto and Reggie, the couple spends a lot of time enjoying the great outdoors near their home in Shelburne Falls. Favorite hiking spots include High Ledges Wildlife Sanctuary and the Shelburne Fire Tower Trail. In the warm weather, they’ll often take the dogs down to splash around in the nearby Deerfield River.

And when the hiking is done, it’s time to hang out on the porch at home with friends and family or hit one of their favorite local spots.

“We really enjoy our town and the surrounding area,” says Jill. Downtown Shelburne Falls has so many great places.”

For breakfast, they’re big fans of the Foxtown Diner. For lunch or dinner, it’s Posada, for some truly authentic Salvadoran and Mexican food or the West End Pub, which was featured in Season 8 of the Showtime series Dexter as the Iron Lake Tavern. For a sweet treat after dinner, they’ll head over to Mo’s Fudge Factor just across the street from the Bridge of Flowers. If the plan is to hang out at home, then its Buffalo chicken pizza from Buckland Pizza and a bottle of wine from Shelburne Falls Cork.

Jill grew up in Sunderland and attended Frontier Regional High School. She works for Precision Dental in Hadley. Matt grew up in Ashfield and attended Mohawk Trail Regional School where he excelled as a running back on the football team. In fact, he still holds the school’s single season and all-time records for rushing yards and touchdowns. He works for McAndrews-King Buick GMC in Adams.

The couple will tie the knot on June 11th at an outdoor ceremony and reception at a family home in Ashfield. Plans include setting up a big tent in a pasture complete with a dance floor. Music will be provided by well-known area disc jockey, Bobby Campbell, from Bobby C’s DJ Service.

“The people are what make the 413 a great place to be. Everyone is friendly and always willing to help each other out. It’s a good place to be.”
